Victoria Taverner, MSc
Victoria has more than 15 years of experience in regulatory support, tobacco science, and product stewardship and is well-versed in the scientific and regulatory requirements of the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), with work spanning risk assessment, product characterization, and next-generation nicotine products. Prior to joining Sanova, Victoria worked for Imperial Brands PLC where she led scientific programs supporting regulatory submissions, product compliance, and product safety, translating complex scientific data into evidence to inform regulatory decision-making and innovation.

Victoria Taverner is an experienced regulatory and toxicology specialist with more than
15 years of experience spanning product stewardship, chemical and toxicological
assessment, and global regulatory compliance. Her career covers a broad spectrum of
product categories, including veterinary medicinal products, medical devices, and
next‑generation nicotine products, where she has led scientific strategy, risk evaluation,
and regulatory submissions.
She holds an MSc in Toxicology from the University of Surrey
and a BSc (Hons) in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Leicester.
Victoria began her career at Cyton Biosciences, delivering regulatory toxicology and risk
assessment programmes for veterinary medicinal products and feed additives across EU
markets. She later broadened her regulatory experience at SGS, coordinating global
medical device certification activities and ensuring compliance with international
standards.
Victoria then spent nine years at Imperial Brands PLC, progressing through roles in
toxicology, next-generation product science, and product characterisation. As Product
Characterisation Manager, she led multi-study scientific programmes across e-vapour,
oral nicotine delivery, and heated tobacco products, overseeing stability testing,
emissions analysis, extractables and leachables assessments, aerosol profiling, and
harmful and potentially harmful constituent evaluations. She managed a team of
scientists and directed both internal laboratories and external Contract Research
Organisations. Her work focused on turning complex chemical and toxicological data
into clear, evidence-based insights that support regulatory defense, product safety, and
commercial readiness.
Victoria joined Sanova as a Scientist in 2026, motivated by a desire to expand her career
internationally and contribute to global efforts in tobacco harm reduction. As part of her
role as a Scientist, she now provides global scientific and strategic support for regulatory
submissions in the tobacco harm reduction sector.
